CASE STUDIES

Blessed & Stressed: Religion & Politics Across the Pond
With Sheyi Martins-Allen and Dr. Katie Gaddini

The Challenge

Katie Gaddini (an academic and author) and Sheyi Martins-Allen (a social media creator) wanted to bridge the gap between deep academic research and high-energy digital engagement. The goal was to launch a podcast that tackled the intersection of religion and politics across the UK and the US.

The project faced three primary hurdles:

  1. Visual Identity: The brand needed to look native to Sheyi’s vibrant Instagram feed while maintaining the intellectual weight of Katie’s expertise.

  2. Engagement: It had to do more than just exist; it needed to spark real conversation in a crowded digital space.

  3. Audio Quality: Because the hosts recorded from different sides of the Atlantic, the raw audio required significant technical work to sound like a unified, professional broadcast.

Our Strategy

We focused on building a "scroll-stopping" brand identity that felt both professional and approachable. By leaning into a distinct aesthetic, we ensured the podcast had a recognizable "face" from day one.

  • Brand Design: Developed a custom logo and visual language that reflected the dual nature of the show.

  • Content Production: Created high-impact social media assets, specifically optimized Reels designed to stop the scroll and invite opinions.

  • Technical Production & Sound Design: We handled the end-to-end technical production, transforming separate, cross-Atlantic recordings into a seamless "in-studio" experience. This involved precision audio editing to bridge the distance, alongside custom sound design—integrating intro/outro music and strategic snippets—to create a polished, professional broadcast.

The Results
  • High Engagement: Our Reels didn't just get views; they sparked heated debates, resulting in tens of thousands of interactions.

  • Rapid Growth: The podcast surpassed 500 downloads shortly after launch.

  • Consistent Momentum: Listenership continues to scale with every new episode as the community grows more invested in the dialogue.

Design Thinkers Academy London

The Challenge

Design Thinkers Academy London needed to expand its global network and cement its authority in the design space. They aimed to launch their first-ever podcast to feature industry leaders from around the world, requiring a professional identity and a high-quality listener experience from scratch.

Our Strategy

I led the full-scale launch and production of the series, ensuring the show looked and sounded as innovative as the academy itself.

  • Creative Direction: Developed a custom visual aesthetic and managed the digital rollout to ensure a cohesive presence across all platforms.

  • End-to-End Production: Managed the entire lifecycle of every episode. I served as the sole producer and engineer—handling all remote recording logistics, precision editing, and final sound design.

The Results

The podcast successfully transitioned from a new concept to a vital industry resource.

  • Network Growth: Successfully drew in top-tier speakers from across the design world.

  • Audience Reach: Scaled the show’s digital presence, growing the listenership to thousands of downloads.

  • Brand Authority: Established a professional, high-fidelity audio platform that serves as a cornerstone of the Academy’s global outreach.
